9/11 is a difficult day for a lot of people. Everyone has their own experiences and memories. I try to remember the little sparks of good that came from that day in 2001. The attached video shows one of those instances.

Operation Yellow Ribbon was certainly something else.

I’ve been to Gander, but it was many years before 9/11. The young Planelop in me found it a very exciting place, as even at high school age, I was able to appreciate the importance that airport for the history of transatlantic aviation. I’ve got a big 9/11 aviation history post dropping later this morning, focusing on the aviation aspect of that day. It’s got a bit about Canada’s role in taking in the aircraft that day. Talk about a good neighbor.

Have you watched this? Long, but fascinating.

I have not. Not sure I want to relive it all, though. I’ve read a lot of the transcripts.

Gander is hard done by even by Newfie standards. They didn’t have much but gave what they had freely on that day.
